For people who comment

Type emojis in YouTube comments without the picker

YouTube's comment box has an emoji button that opens a panel with its own search field. A picker inside a picker. By the time you find the emoji, the reply you were making has gone cold.

What that costs you today

โœ—

The emoji panel needs its own search to be usable

โœ—

Live chat moves too fast for any picker at all

โœ—

Replies collapse the toolbar until you click into them

โœ—

Community posts behave differently from comments

The same thirty seconds, twice

The video earned a real comment, and it ends with ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

With YouTube's panel

  1. 01 Click the smiley in the comment toolbar
  2. 02 Search inside the panel, a picker with its own search box
  3. 03 Click the emoji and find your place in the comment again

By the time the emoji lands, the reply has gone cold.

With Emoji Anywhere

  1. 01 Type :fire at the end of the comment
  2. 02 Press Enter

Fast enough to keep up with the thread.

What you would type instead

:fire โ†’ ๐Ÿ”ฅ

for the videos that earn it

:joy โ†’ ๐Ÿ˜‚

the comment-section currency

:eyes โ†’ ๐Ÿ‘€

Where it works on YouTube

Make it yours

:thanks โ†’ Thanks for watching! ๐Ÿ™

If you run a channel, replying to comments is a volume job. Make :thanks, :soon and :link custom codes and answer a hundred comments without typing the same line a hundred times.

Comments are conversation, and conversation has timing. Three keystrokes keeps you in it; a picker takes you out of it.

Questions

Do I need a Google account or any signup?

No account anywhere. The extension works signed in or out, stores its settings in your browser, and never phones home.

Does it cover community posts and replies?

Yes. Comments, threaded replies and community posts all use text boxes the extension understands.

Why not just use YouTube's emoji panel?

Because the panel needs its own search to be usable, and by then you have left the sentence. If your fingers already know :fire and :joy from Slack, they work here unchanged.
