Stop Key symbol

Type :stop_key: · Tech & keys

Unicode name Black Square For Stop · Miscellaneous Technical block · added in Unicode 7.0, 2014

What ⏹ is for

The filled square, which has meant stop since cassette decks. It is distinct from pause in a way that matters when writing instructions: stop discards where you were, pause keeps it.
